About the Race

In honor of International Data Center Day, the 7×24 DC Chapter is hosting a huge welcome event for our local community and the data center industry.  Not only will you and your children enjoy a 4.99999k run/walk and 1 mile fun run around “Data Center Alley”, you can explore Data Center Coalitions’ Data Center Discovery Zone!  It is a fun, interactive opportunity to learn about Data Centers, including five nines of reliability, and the numerous career paths available in the data center industry.  Participants of all ages and academic levels will have the chance to meet Data Center experts to talk about skills/traits, scholarships, internships, trade programs, and other pathways to enter this lucrative industry while engaging in fun hands-on activities.  After the race, there will be a post-race party with free food trucks, a vendor expo, and a band.  Please plan on spending most of the day with us and make memories that could change your life!


Proceeds of this race will benefit Dulles South Soup Kitchen and the 7×24 Exchange DC Chapter Scholarship Fund.  Dulles South Soup Kitchen provides freshly made meals to those who need to feed their families, provide opportunities to volunteer for those who need to serve and provide an environment of food security in the community. Dulles South Soup Kitchen is an initiative for the people and by the people of our community.  The 7×24 Scholarship Fund assists students in pursuing their education goals while on track to a rewarding career in the data center industry.  

Course Info

The looped road race will start and finish at AREP Power House’s data center (22000 Broderick Dr) where there is ample parking available on site.  There will be a water stop about half-way through and lots of fun along the way!  Porta potties will be available at the start and finish of the race.   Commemorative T-shirts will be included with your race fee.  This will be a chip race and awards for the top 3 male and female finishers in 10-year age group categories will be given at the post-race party.  Participation awards will also be provided for the top 3 companies and schools with the most registrants!

About Dulles South Soup Kitchen

Dulles South Soup Kitchen provides residents of Loudoun County with hot meals. We believe that no one should sleep hungry. Our goal is to supplement the wonderful work being done by the network of local food pantries in our area. We strive to build strong communities driven by empathy and service. Our Mission is to provide nutritious hot meals, free of charge, to anyone who is seeking nourishment, in a dignified and compassionate environment.

 Ever wonder what types of individuals work in a data center? Interested in learning whether a career in data centers is the right path for you or your student? The Data Center Discovery Zone in conjunction with the 7×24 DC Chapter’s Cloud Run will offer a fun, interactive opportunity to learn about Data Centers and the numerous career paths available in the data center industry.  Participants of all ages and academic levels will have the chance to meet and talk about traits, scholarships, internships, and many other pathways to opportunities in data centers, engage in hands-on activities, and connect with local data center employees!
